It has been over a year since the last time this site has had any new content. I’m sorry to say that it looks like Manga Shouten may be done for.

The Mediafire account that was used to host all of our scanlated chapters was axed. As of this moment the files are no longer available to download. It’ll probably remain this way for quite a while, unless someone has a suggestion on where to upload them.

In any case, it was fun while it lasted. We regret that we weren’t able to provide more of the Dragonball series from the crisp and clean Kanzenban. But who knows what the future holds. Until we may meet again.

Time for something a little different!

Fans of Castlevania: Harmony of Despair may enjoy this release. Did you know there were 11 short 4-panel comics made for this game? Well, we’ve translated them for you!

Enjoy the release!

Bleach 423

You might think that Manga Shouten is dead. And… you’d be partially right. But Iyou did a translation of Chapter 423 and we whipped up a scanlation of the chapter.

So go download it and enjoy. 🙂

Merry Christmas to everyone out there!

As many of you visiting this website know, Manga Toshokan was forced to remove pretty much all the Japanese manga scanlations on their site. As a result, all of the “read online” links on Manga Shouten are broken until further notice.

It deeply saddens us that the pressure is on and that scanlation sites are being forced to either shut down or remove much of their content. We here at Manga Shouten hope that either a middle ground can be found somehow, or that at least a few sites are allowed to remain. We feel that online scanlations help introduce different series to people that they would have otherwise never read before (and thus increase sales). It would be a shame to lose that ability.

As for our releases, the download links will remain up for as long as possible. And if/when we find another site that will allow it, we will get our releases back up for online viewing as well. If anyone knows of another alternative (One Manga did not accept our releases, Manga Helpers accepted it but never made it public for some reason) please leave a comment and we will work as fast as possible to get them back up.

DB Chapter 201

Another release for you guys!

Dragon Ball – 201 (DBZ 07) – 「ピッコロの切り札」 (“Piccolo’s Trump Card”)

As a reminder, we have a forum on the Icy Phoenix message board. Sign ups are free and there’s tons of forums; it’s not limited to just our releases/forum. Feel free to sign up and post something. We don’t bite, I promise.

DB Chapter 200

Back from the dead, Manga Shouten is here with another high quality Kanzenban Dragon Ball release!

Dragon Ball – 200 (DBZ 06) – 「かつてない恐怖」 (“An Unprecedented Terror”)

Enjoy!

Are We Dead?

By now most people who have been visiting this site has noticed a complete lack of updates. Is Manga Shouten dead?  Far from it!  We are, however, without a translator at the moment.

Iyouboushi was doing all of the translations for every release we’ve had.  He’s been pretty busy as of late and has not had time to translate anything new.  Hence, we do not have any new updates for you, our beautifully patient public.

We here just wanted to make an update to say that while we really don’t have anything new to offer today, we are not dead.  Updates will, inevitably, come.  Eventually.

DB Chapter 199

Another day, another release.

Dragon Ball – 199 (DBZ 05) – 「ラディッツとの対決」 (“Showdown with Raditz”)

DB Chapter 198

We’re back with a new release!

Dragon Ball – 198 (DBZ 04) – 「共通の大敵」 (“A Great Common Enemy”)

Enjoy!

Updates

Alright so we have a question for those who might be following our releases.

Should we keep the current release schedule with it being once a week with the occasional week off or should we switch to a “release when finished” method that might result in multiple releases a week (or sometimes only one, as usual) but may include more weeks off? Really the only real difference is when you want the releases. Do you want them one (almost) guaranteed a week or the potential for multiple releases a week whenever they are finished and uploaded?

We’re leaning towards the latter, actually. Dragon Ball is such a huge manga and there will be so many chapters that it might be better if we start releasing them when we’re finished, with the occasional weeks off for sanity breaks. If we release one chapter a week, it will take years before/if we finish.

But we want to hear what you guys think. Don’t be afraid to leave a comment with suggestions or ways for us to improve (on either this or other matters). However, should no one comment by the start of next week, we’re going to go ahead and change the way we do releases.
